I understand you face a loss of value.
Think about this though, were gold weapons ever worth the 100+ plat prices players charged for them? People used to sell sigils. Prices reached about 40 plat when the peak of the hate for sigil traders happened. They continued for a while and my have reached close to 100 plat at the end. The PvE community was up in arms and almost frothing at the mouth that they had to pay so much for the sigils. They accused people of price gouging and hoarding sigils from the traders (BS FYI). ANet crumbled under that pressure and changed things. Nobody is up in arms about paying 40-60 plat to a NPC for them though.
Now look at those 100+ plat PvE items, did people campaign against that? No. Now I'm glad people can make guilds without having to trade with a player for a "greedy" sigil trader. Why? because this game is about fun and it's a competitive game. Players should be able to compete i.e. have a hall. They should also be able to get the tools they need to compete like weapons and skills. Now they can get good weapons without a grind. Green weapons still offer better mods than collector weapons AFAIK. You will always have a market for Green weapons because players will want to trade for the weapon they want for the one they don't need. Your gold weapons are not completey useless. Did you buy them for using or for making money from? Be happy others can get good weapons too.

THE WHOLE POINT OF THE STEREOTYPICAL MMORPG WAS MINDLESS GRINDING.
With that in mind, people continue to post their self-righteous god-awful two cents' worth.

Someone who only plays even 300 hours in two months had hardly any hope of finding "Godly max dmg" weapons, only the extreme farmers and very lucky "Smite runners", UW solo builds and Fow/UW farming brigades did.

You can quest and farm. There is no rule against it as far as I can tell.

two points please
1 most of the frothing posts were from PVP guilds who didnt want to waste their time farming gold to pay and simply sucked so bad they couldnt win one.
some pve had a s**t fit but most simply farmed and paid as they would be farming anyway and a hall to us is not that important
2. as for hoarding and gouging i simply point to the people who put up to 35 sigels at a time up for sale when they fixed the shortage and they wanted to dump their hoard fast

The reason why people want +15%>50 weapons and not 15% when enchanted is pvp, not pve. We demanded +15% weapons so that pve warriors could compete on even footing with pvp warriors.
And as far as I know, there is still no 15%>50 Axe available from a collector or crafter so we are still screwed as far as that goes. Hurry Anet, Axe warriors need love too.

I did. But your asinine statement doesn't answer the original problem: why are pve warriors not allowed easy access to the best weapons when every other profession gets theirs?
If every other profession was crippled in the same manner, fine, but its just warriors who until this patch were singled out.

Do the math. 12>50 vs 15>50. Not a big difference damage-wise. And you can pickup a 12>50 sword cheap.

Geezus. All these threads started by farmers/greedy hoarders saying that their PVE is ruined because items are more abundant (as they should be).
Yeah, it's just horrible that in the course of normal non farming playing of PVE that people should get a gold or green item. Just horrible.

Not really. For the most part, "rare" just is an arbitrary title give to salvagabe armor and weapons to signify their likelihood to have superior quality rune/mod unlocks or base stats.
But, people love thinking too hard on titles like superior, elite, or rare, so knock yourself out.

You are like the knuckleheads who were saying that Elite skills were supposed to be almost impossible to get and reserved for the few "Elite" players that had the time to waste trying to cap the skills (This was before they fixed the flawed capping Elite system)

I know, haha, it's all "I will explain to you why Elite skills are supposed to be hard to get by posting definitions of the word Elite. "

Is it just me or has all the farmers suddenly forgotten that at retail Lauch this is how drops were in the first place.... Because I can sure remember that the drops were like this day one. A.Net has been nurfing all drops from retail to last patch to control the solo farming. Now the great drops are back. But now everyone gets a slice.

e·lite or é·lite Pronunciation Key (-lt, -lt)
n. pl. elite or e·lites
1.A group or class of persons or a member of such a group or class, enjoying superior intellectual, social, or economic status: “In addition to notions of social equality there was much emphasis on the role of elites and of heroes within them” (Times Literary Supplement).
2. The best or most skilled members of a group: the football team's elite.
3. A size of type on a typewriter, equal to 12 characters per linear inch.
Gee and here I thought it was definition 3.
But, truer words never spoken, Sanji. Elite means "superior" by definition. Elite skills are supposed to be better and harder to obtain.

Im sorry but they are elite becuase they effect is better. "Elite effect."
Futher facts also point towards A player not having more than one "Elite effect" per Character.

Exactly. The Elite tag isnt there because theyre supposed to be hard to get, but because you can only have one in your skill bar. If it meant anything else, we'd be able to have more than one.
But uhh..we're going off topic...

Again, not really. Arbitrary title for a video game mechanic that shouldn't be taken too literally. Sure, there are a fair number of very potent elite skills, then there are some that are average niche skills that are elite only because they do not interact well with other elites, and then there are those that are just headscratchingly bad.

Yea, because of greedy gold grabbers.
Now to be fair the only reason that they sold for mindblowing amounts of gold is because stupid people acutaly bought it.

Sure, it's seemingly insignificant. But every advantage is compounded 8 times in pvp. One person in your 8 man group with below perfect weapons and an unoptimized build may not sink you, but if your whole group is like that it becomes much harder.
I don't really see what you are trying to argue, either there is equal footing or there isn't. Even if the disparity isn't a "big difference" its still an unnecesary disparity. I don't see why you are not only accepting of it, but that you want it to stay. Why is it fair?
